Our precautionary measures to COVID-19

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to rise, our top priority is always the health and safety of our children, families and staff.

We understand that there are a lot of questions and concerns and we want to assure you that we are in very close contact with the Queensland Government Department of Education and the Department of Health to closely monitor the situation and action their advice in real-time should things evolve and change.

Our Childcare centres located in Beenleigh, Kallangur and Burnside are operating as usual and taking additional precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of our children and staff.

What is AppleBerries doing?

Each of our centres has implemented additional preventative measures to protect our children and staff. Mandatory hand hygiene procedures have been put into place, and we have increased the frequency of our cleaning and sanitisation process throughout our centres.

In addition, we have decided to pause all excursions and incursions at our centres temporarily. We believe that by minimising the exposure of external people into our AppleBerries family, we are eliminating the risk of introducing COVID-19 into our environment.

The health and safety of our staff

In order for us to operate and continue to deliver our service, we need our educators to be safe and healthy. Our Support Office team is providing support to our Centre Directors in every way that we can so that together we can continue to provide a healthy environment for our staff and children.

We have requested that any staff member stay home should they be feeling unwell or displaying flu-like symptoms, or if they have potentially been exposed to someone showing signs of infection.

To protect our teams and their health, we ask that all parents and their children at drop off and pick up times use the hand sanitiser provided at reception on entry and exit of the building.

Our children and our families

There is a lot of confusion and fear amongst communities right now as to whether schools and childcare services will cease for a period of time.  We will be guided by our governing bodies should anything change, but for now, we are operating as normal with the implementation of additional precautionary measures to keep everybody safe.

We do ask that if parents or their children are showing any signs of infection, or you have potentially been exposed to someone who is, that you contact us via phone and refrain from sending your child to our service until you have received clearance from your doctor.

The health and safety of our staff, children and families are of the utmost importance, and we are doing everything that we can to protect our centres and those who attend.

Each of our childcare centres will continue to keep families updated on a local level with new announcements that are communicated by the Department of Education and the Department of Health. We promise to be transparent with our families and staff, and we ask the same of you.

Our children are our family and family always come first.
